It’s been a year

So last summer I wrote this little post that has been really weighing heavy on my mommy heart…this age is such a forgotten age when it comes to photography and family albums.  I don’t think its necessarily for any one particular reason, I think it’s a culmination of the busy-ness of life and sports, plus massive amounts of homework and projects… but also because it’s easy to show the cute chubby toddlers in princess dresses and muddy boots and a lot harder to capture the personality of a TWEEN.  I have more to say on this topic and it’s coming real soon!   so stay tuned…

Mommy and me on the beach (tween style)

So in true Texas April style, saltwater sessions for friday and saturday got rained out! However, I was able to squeeze in the sunday evening sessions!  This mama is my friend, I met her years ago when she did a daydream mentoring session with me. She doesn’t live too far so we have been able to keep on touch.  She messaged me about making the drive in for one of my beach sessions and really wanted to see if it was possible  to make it a mommy and me with her TWEEN SON.  My first reaction was “ummmmm, can i do this?”  and my second reaction was “yes she needs this!  I need this!  So lets do it”!  and so we did!

My thoughts to you tween mom friend

You used to carry him…

Then you gave him a finger or two as he learned to walk …

You held his hand as he crossed every street and stepped off of every curb…

Then…

You began slowly letting go as he gained his independence…

As he embarks on the next steps of life remember, that he may no longer need to hold your hand to get across the street but there is one thing he will need from you that no one else can give him… Your presence!

Walk beside him sweet mama!  Walk beside him and let him know that you will always be there with every step of every adventure….forever
