the sparkle,

the glitter,

the “princess”

that sits in the heart of my baby girl is nothing short of MAGICAL and i am forever grateful to catch a glimpse of it.

more from concept two of this shoot coming soon when we get cheeks #1′s part but obviously the second i got this dress from ms joy we had to shoot.  however the weather has been against us.  as we were leaving austin after the holidays, like literally packing the car, the sun peeked out from the clouds for a brief moment.  A MOMENT WAS ALL I NEEDED, and as you can imagine she was already in the dress as any princess would be, ha…well we got a total of 15 sunny but cold minutes for out texas bones and this is what we got…well to be fair i could probably post another set and i might but for now enjoy these little bits of sparkles…

 

as for the dress because i know y’all are all drooling over it….

oh joy my sweet friend joy, SHE IS THE BEAUTIFUL MIND AND SEWING FINGERS BEHIND THIS DRESS…SNAZZIEDRAWERS...i am happy to say i “knew her before she was famous” haha…but really there are not enough words for me to use when talking about her and the awesome-ness that simply oozes from her brain…she is, to put short and sweet so i don’t go on and on and on, ha SHE IS A CREATIVE GENIUS!  i adore her as a person, she inspires me creatively as an artist and she amazes me as mom running her own successful business.  gah, she is pretty amazing

i truly believe that each of you, no matter what kind of camera you have or dont have, no matter how perfect or imperfect our days can be, it needs to be captured…LIFE needs to be captured.  As a group we hope to inspire you to take out that camera, capture a full day of YOUR life, capture your afternoon swinging at the park, or riding bikes to check the mail, any of it, all of it, just capture it!  No one but your family will prob ever enjoy these images and hey they may not ever even be edited if you are a photog but the bottom line is someday you will look back and you will be so happy you have these memories captured.

so as the year came to a close and i was working on our family year book i was simply giddy to see so many of our everyday images in one place…truth is i am every year since i started the project, it makes my heart sing and brings a smile to my face about all of the wonderful-ness we have relished in over the year.  AS A PHOTOG AND A MOM IT NOT ONLY MAKES ME PROUD BUT FEEDS MY SOUL…THIS IS WHY I DO WHAT I DO (period).  so without further adieu here is a small compilation of our every images from 2012…what our 2012 looked like!:)xoxo

amy grace - shalonda, my sweet friend…each time you share a post, i want to jump through the screen, or jump on a plane and give you a giant hug. the love in you is palpable. we can all feel it. this was a beautiful way to start the year and the project, and i feel like i got a real sense of who you all are. and i love it. every one of these is awesome. soft and precious and little girl sweet. the two of them are the loveliest pair, and are so blessed to have each other. big love to you, and thank you for sharing your sweet soul.

Wendy VonSosen - Oh my! Those are the two cutest girls ever. I’m swooning over the one of them snuggled and sleeping in bed together with the light falling just right on their sweet faces. This looks like a glimpse of the ideal childhood for little girls. I love the one of them reading in the library and with all four lined up in the street at night. You have such a gift for making the everyday beautiful.

brenda - Oh Shalonda….first off, what you wrote at the top is soooo soooo true and I adore you even more for inspiring others to capture life. Not many people do that. Someone said to me once and that was the start my journey into photography. Believe me when I say, what you wrote has and does inspire others to do exactly what you suggested. :)

LOVED all the photos! As I was scrolling I was like “Oh I love that one” and then I would see the next one and say, “Oh that’s my favorite!” You have such a gift and I can only image how beautiful your family album is.

I’m playing a little catch up from the end of the year’s holiday craze there were so many All Wrapped UP mini sessions i never got to blog and a handful of full sessions that didnt get blogged either….you now its not like me to miss a chance to blog but sometimes the insanity gets the best of me and it happens, ha…

so ill try to add some goodies here and there as we skip through january…

love love love this family!  if you follow this blog you would know they have been here about a gazillion times, and each time we seem sot have more and more fun!  we tend to take little random crazy adventures and…well…the inside jokes are in abundance, bwhahahaha

we hit up an old fav location i hadn’t been in so long, market street  and as luck would had it the cold snap that joined us was soooo not welcome!  well we made it happen and it was better than we could have imagined…as i always seem to say when i shoot this family LOVE just seems to ooze from their pores, and

they got “headlight” lights for christmas…

they have blinded me on more than one occasion

ironically tonight they used them to read under the table in the dark NOT ON THEIR HEADS hahaha

but what i love the most is that you can totally tell that cheeks #2 was sounding out a word and cheeks #1 was patiently waiting to help her if she needed it…sigh…I.LOVE.THEM
