pinkpngso a dear friend of mine and fellow photographer melissa zihlman, introduced me to the story of the sullivan family.  and it was clear to me how I was going to give back during this month of breast cancer awareness.  originally i had plan of  simply writing a check to Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and was all ready to whip up the post for it, however this story touched me in a place i can not even begin to describe.  This story not only forced me to read every single word through tear filled eyes but to walk away with a sense of peace and hope and a smile for Chloe and Brad’s future.

I know every single person reading this blog has been affected in some way by this horrible illness, whether your neighbor walks in a race, your aunt was just diagnosed, several of your friends moms have fought the fight, your grandmother has passed, or you yourself have discovered a lump, breast cancer affects us ALL.

so in honor of ms sara’s fight, brad’s strength and this family’s faith that God has a plan…I AM PLEDGING $0.50 for every comment left on this post over the next 48 hrs to the sara sullivan fund.  Yep that’s right all you have to do is stick your head out of your blog hiding place and say hi….

please leave a comment for those that have fought the battle and won, those that we still fight for and those who will fight oneday.

{your life…} – the woodlands, tx family photographer – shalonda chaddock

it was a cold rainy morning, with wind gusts up to 25 mph.  a nice patch of green and red stalled right on top of our city’s little dot, and i was heading down to galveston.  I felt like a weather girl heading out to cover the storm coming in out of the gulf, well er except it was heading towards the gulf, and i was minus one of those super cool yellow rain slickers.  oh and clearly i am NO weather girl or for goodness sakes or i would never have scheduled a weekend of beach mini sessions during the seasons first (and probably only) real cold snap!  well have no fear mom blog stalkers i did actually get the privilege of enjoying one single shoot of my 8 total, lol, and it was a doozie (thats a fun word to type btw, lol)…

so here they are the, T family, you have seen these little cuties before but here are the amazing parents behind their little giggles….aren’t they an unbelievably gorgeous family?!  hot diggity dog people!  all gorgeousness aside, i have to say it again, THIS is why i love doing family shoots!  i love these little moments, the moments that tell the story of who your family really is…the reflection of how we so quickly go from one tiny table for two, to a table for four, or five in an instant….the importance of all that we have learned and all that we have taught in such a short period of time.  the in’s and out’s, the odds and ends, the every day minutes of OUR LIVES!  this is your life, these are your moments, this is the reflection of your family…please ,whether it be with a professional or with a point and shoot camera CAPTURE IT, and capture it now!
