YOU MAY REMEMBER THIS POST from 2011 when we first started the tradition of our RACK Advent Calendar…well tomorrow is Dec1 and its time to bring out our RACK Advent calendar 🙂
So ill be honest with y’all, I rarely write about it because there is something about giving and then talking about it that makes me feel weird…well inevitably every year i get emails from others asking, what is  RACK list and can i help them make one for their family or if i can share our list of giving activities, RACK cards or Bible Verse List etc.  That made me realize that its sort of okay to share about giving…not for praise or thank you’s but TO INSPIRE OTHERS TO GIVE AS WELL and hopefully even give them ideas of how they can involve their children in that giving process…Daddy cheeks and i were very active in community service organizations at Texas A&M but things got sticky and harder when we had our girls.  Finding ways to give back wasn’t always the easiest thing with two little girls running around.  Back in 2011 it made sense because they were fully aware of what it meant to give back to the community or help others so we started a list of things that we could do WITH THEM!  We condensed it all into the 25 days before Christmas bc this time of the year is so much about GETTING and i needed them to know that all of the time but especially THIS TIME of the year should be about GIVING AS WELL!  And so we started the Cheeks family Rack tradition… coming full circle with my story here… while i won’t share a ton because it makes me feel sort of ashamed to share i will share A LITTLE…i am working on a way to provide a download link to you so that if you want our little cheeks family RACK pack (with printable rack card, activity list and bible verse list)ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CLICK HERE join the fb group and download the files for yourself 🙂
One more thing…if you follow me on instagram then you know that last year i found the most amazing little family business on instagram and they created the Giving Manger, a book and precious manger set up that orovides another way to actually show your children the how much giving to the world does! Â Anyhoo check them out y’all because yeah I LOVE IT and we added it to our RACK activities last year and the girls loved it just as much!!!!!
